Roman Skulls Uncovered Underneath London Rail Station
There has been a lot of talk about this new Crossrail line that is being built in London, and probably more about what they have been digging up during the process. Lots of bones and skulls have been found, some as long ago as the 16th Century!
This latest discovery, 20 or so Roman Skulls and bones have been found by construction workers deep beneath the 16th century Bedlam burial ground in the center of the city, which is now under Liverpool street station, Crossrail said in a statement.
The skulls will now be taken to the Museum of London where they will be analysed – unfortunately it will be difficult to name them as any tags that were found by the bodies were so badly rusted they are illegible.
