Carved Skull Violin to be Auctioned

skull violin carving - fullskull carving detail skull violin carving

This striking carved skull violin is by Mark Noll, a self-taught woodwork artist based in Florida. He has started his own design company – Mark Noll Designs – and creates jewellery and sculpture, and love creating skulls too – bravo sir.

Mark, along with 11 other talented artists, was recently invited to turn an old violin into a piece of art which is going to be auctioned off to raise money for Cantebury School in Florida. The school originally purchased a dozen violins for their Suzuki Music Program but the violins were unusable.

The Florida Craftsman Gallery asked artists to transform them into pieces of art to be auctioned off, with the proceeds benefitting the Music Program. The violins will be auctioned in an on-going silent auction both at the Gallery and on the website. Bids will be taken from July 18th to August 23rd. 100% of the money goes towards the kids music program so please visit the Florida Craftsmen Gallery for more details
