Day of the Dead Sugar Skull Wallpaper by Emily Evans

Emily Evans is a extremely talented anatomical illustrator who creates drawings for anatomy books and more recently home-wares - see her anatomical plates here. This is one of her latest creations - Day of the Dead Sugar Skull Wallpaper - which is available through the Street Anatomy Store.

Available at the Street Anatomy Gallery Store!

We’ve been lucky enough to also go Brazilian dancing with Emily in Brick Lane, but that’s a story for another time. I can confirm that her dancing skills are nearly as good as her drawing skills :)

Skull Brain Sculpture by Emilio Garcia

I have been seeing these skull brains pop up all over the net over the last few weeks, most recently through Street Anatomy, and they also featured at the recent CONTEXT Art Miami via Black Square Gallery. The skull brains have been created by Emilio Garcia and are part of a limited edition series. The skull is a resin cast, size 7 x 5.5 x 5 inch, and come in 4 different colours – Gold, Chrome, Graphite and Pink

*Update: You can now enter a competition on Skull-a-Day’s website to win one of these glorious sculptures. Click here to enter.

Closer Skull Print by Mr Four Fingers

This is one of our earlier skull prints available to buy through the Street Anatomy store. The print is called ‘Closer’ and features 2 skulls facing each other framed in a heart.

The illustration was inspired by ONE, where two skulls become one, which Street Anatomy liked so much they approached us to produce a limited edition print to sell exclusively through their online shop. We happily obliged.

The skulls used in ONE, the original idea, were created using water based paints which created a washed out feel and we struggled to capture the detail when printing. D2G recreated the skull print illustration from scratch using graphite and digital colouring.

The print is giclee printed on Matt Litho Realistic paper which is really smooth, like compressed chalk, and holds the colour really well. Pixley Print House are the talent behind the printing.

CLOSER is limited to 20 prints.

Prints are $40 each

*The third image is what the print looks like when framed – we’ve cut it down into a square to fit the frame.

The colours are more punchy than the above photo as the light was quite cold.

Day of the Dead Skull By Emily Evans

I’m very excited to show this golden Day of the Dead Skull By Emily Evans. Two reasons really, firstly because we’ve had the pleasure of meeting Emily, through Vanessa from Street Anatomy, and she’s very cool with a mad passion for anatomy and illustration. Secondly this day of the dead skull is skull’rific!

The bad news is that I fear this day of the dead sugar skull screen print is sold out already as it was available to purchase through the Street Anatomy Shop.

Breaking Bad – Heisenberg Skull

This skull, Walt A.K.A Heisenberg from the very popular series Breaking Bad, has been created by Travis Louie for  The Breaking Bad Art Project at Gallery1988 in Los Angeles. I personally love the series and was so happy when I found this on Street Anatomy’s blog.

Pauline Darley’s Skull Make Up Photo Shoot

One of our favourite websites at the moment is Street Anatomy, there are always amazing posts on the site and one that caught our eye recently was this one – French photographer’s Pauline Darley’s “She has waited too long.” which was shot for Ever Magazine.

The model is Clémentine Levy and her skull make up is so striking. In fact most girls need to start wearing make up like this because it is shit hot.
