Media Militia have created this amazing downloable file of human skulls for you to use as reference for illustration and other creative projects. It can be used for personal and commercial purposes too. Heck, how amazing is that?
The file contains 54 human skulls, from fetal skulls through to decrepit skulls, and all skulls are photographed in a number of positions on a black background. Have I mentioned it’s free???

Cindy Wright has an amazingly beautiful and gruesome collection of oil paintings, a couple of which feature skulls. It has been a long time since I have seen such clean and hyper real paintings that display such a delicate beauty. Be sure to check out the rest of her portfolio as you will have never seen fat and raw meat look so appealing.
The Asmat Tribe, from Irian Jaya Indonesia, collect and worship ancestor skulls to remember their deceased family members. The tribes all decorate the skulls differently, in this case the Asmat Tribe use feathers, seeds and carved sea shell rings to decorate their skulls.
We found these amazing skulls on Tribal Art Asia’s website.
The Naga Human Skulls are head hunting trophies, which are acquired from enemies. The Naga tribe, from Nagaland, attach animal horns to the skulls of their head hunted victims.
They are pretty freaky, probably because they are real human skulls. I have loads more tribal skulls to post so be sure to come back for more.
