Diamond Skull by Damien Hirst

The Skull Appreciation Society would not be complete without the addition of the Diamond Skull Damien Hirst Created. For the Love of God was produced in 2007 and is a platinum cast human skull encrusted with 8601 diamonds. The skull cost £14 million to make and went on display in the White Cube Gallery in London, with an asking price of a whopping £50 million.

Hallucinatory Heads

We found these colourful “Rainbow Skulls” over at MF Joes blog. At first I thought they were computer rendered skulls, but they are plastic replicas that have been ‘spin’ painted. Upon further investigation I read this article at Newsfeed and found out that these gaudy skulls are to be available for purchase with what appears to be a minimum £36,800 price tag from the gift shop at The Tate Modern.
